In 2017, several academics of the Faculty of Geography participated in Urecol activities at UAD. The team from the geography faculty that departed to take part in this activity were a team of lecturers and students, the lecturer team consisted of 5 teams and students 3 teams. As for this activity, there were 3 teams from the Faculty of Geography UMS who received the Best Paper predicate including the Drs Team. Priyono, M. Si., The team of Dr. Kuswaji Dwi Priyono, M. Si., and the team from Dra. Alif Noor Anna, M. Si. The background for this activity is the Ministerial regulation no. 44 of 2015 mandates universities in terms of research and community service [PkM]. Research and community service (PKM) produce creations and innovations that are expected not only to stop at research results, but also to the publication and commercialization stage. Research and PkM are efforts to realize self-exploration. This process can improve the quality of researchers themselves, the findings of researchers also bring benefits to the community. Of course, existing research results require a forum for dissemination, external discussion, communication and research findings. University Research Colloquium (URECOL) is a forum that functions to facilitate the dissemination of research results and community service.
URECOL for the fifth time was held to provide opportunities for researchers to conduct scientific publications. This was initiated by the University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta through a consortium of Muhammadiyah Universities. URECOL is a national seminar forum that provides space for dissemination, discussion, and getting more useful follow-up on research outcomes.
Disseminate the results of research and PkM to the academic community and the wider community;
Communicating and discussing research and PkM results according to the latest trends;
Expanding communication networks between researchers and devotees with stakeholders
Instilling and growing the spirit of research and PkM;
The means of publication and dissemination of research results and PkM become real research outputs.
