Thursday (27/05), Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo (UMSIDA) held a 2021 joint research program collaboration with Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS). Held via Zoom, this activity carries the theme “Covid 19 Non-Medical Risk Mitigation Models in the Central Java and East Java Areas”. The lecturer of the Faculty of Geography had the opportunity to be a resource person, namely Aditya Saputra, Ph.D. In the webinar activity, Aditya Saputra explained that past disaster events have a higher weight in assessing the vulnerability of an area. Furthermore, Aditya explained that high vulnerability is likely to occur in areas that are classified as disaster-prone areas, have low economic growth, and lack health facilities, and the demographic structure is dominated by the elderly population.
