The Faculty of Geography, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) held an International Conference on Geography and Disaster Management (ICGDM), Tuesday (21/12). Held online through the Zoom Meeting, this activity is part of the International Summit on Science, Technology and Humanity (ISETH) UMS.
ICGDM 2021 brings speakers from 6 countries. Among them are Dr. Balazs Bradak (Postgraduate School of Maritime Science, University of Kobe, Japan), Dr. Yazid bin Saleh (Sultan Idris Education University, Malaysia). Dr Usman Umar Jimoh (Department of Urban and Regional Planning, University of Ibadan, Nigeria), Samuel Medayese, M.Sc (Department of Urban and Regional Planning, Kwazulu Natal University, South Africa), Dr Syarif Shofirun (Universiti Utara Malaysia, Malaysia), and Prof. Raju Sarkar (Delhi University of Technology, India).
While the main speaker is Professor Dr. Aris Marfai from the Geospatial Information Agency, Dr. Dimyati from the Indonesian Geographical Association, Dr. Nandi from FORPIMGEO, Associate. And Prof. Dr. Moh. Hairy Ibrahim from Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris Malaysia.'
Head of ICGDM Vidya Nahdhiyatul Fikriyah, S.Si., M.Sc. I hope that through ICGDM, all participants can exchange ideas and gain new insights regarding the development of geography related to disaster management.
The participants of this international seminar were 50 people. 16 of them are UMS students who take part in the undergraduate program through the Scopus process publication innovation talent pathway. (*)
