On Monday afternoon (19/06), the Faculty of Geography at Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) organized a General Lecture with the theme “Preparing Excellent Geography Talents in the Era of AI Ecosystem.” This event served as a valuable moment for students, faculty members, and the entire academic community at the Faculty of Geography, UMS, to understand the importance of preparing for the increasing presence of AI in the ecosystem of geographical studies.
With great enthusiasm, Dr. M. Aditya Warman (Supervisory Board of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan) delivered a lecture on how AI technology is significantly transforming the landscape of Geography. He cleverly shared insights on how Geography can adapt its role in the evolving AI Ecosystem.
“We cannot turn a blind eye to technological advancements, especially AI, which have opened up many new opportunities in understanding geographical phenomena,” said Dr. M. Aditya Warman with passion. “To prepare excellent Geography talents, it is crucial for all of us to integrate AI into this field and encourage collaboration between academics, practitioners, and industries.”
Beyond touching on theoretical aspects, Dr. M. Aditya Warman also provided real-world examples of AI technology applications in geographical studies.
